Fall Hayrides

It isn't snowing at the Farmstead, at least, not yet. Things are wrapping up for the 2006 season, but already we are taking reservations for weddings and receptions for 2007, and believe it or not, we've already reserved dates for 7 events and our Summer Concert Series. So, if you, your club, company or social group would like to make a reservations for an event at The Farmstead, send us an email or call us 330-867-6681.
Well, thanks to the weatherman, actually, no thanks to him at all, we were rained out this fall. We never opened for our hayride event. You may have realized that it didn't rain on the weekends we were supposed to be open, but it had rained enough, just days before, that the ground was way to wet for the tractor and wagon. We did have a couple of private hayride parties and actually got stuck several times and had to back up (great fun with a hay wagon) just to get going again. When the ground is too wet, the big tractor tires really tear things up.
Needless to say, we look forward to better weather next year. We're sorry that we disappointed so many of you who wanted to visit the farm and take a ride.
We do have another beautiful Quilt, donated by friend of the Farmstead, Charlotte Meador, and it is ready for the raffle next year As you may know every penny that we take in, through the raffle, and all other events at our hayrides goes toward sustaining the restoration and preservation efforts at Botzum, as well as daily operations. Thank you for your support! We look forward to your visit next year.
We are officially closed for the year. However, if you wish to visit the farm or speak with us about an event, please page George at 330-560-2039 or call 330-867-6681.
Have a safe and happy winter.
