The rental fees vary, depending on the type of event. Some fees are by the hour, others are per person. You may rent for as many hours as you wish. Rental time includes set-up and take-down. You must rent tables and chairs. This is arranged through The Farmstead, so that we have control of delivery and pickup dates and times. You may also rent anything you need for your event: 5′ rounds, padded chairs, high tops, bars, a dance floor, rectangular tables, you name it. We do not publish current prices for these items because they are all subject to change, based on market rates and availability. Call Maureen at 330-867-6681 to check on prices.

As of June 1, 2007 we have permanent, handicapped accessible flush toilets and sinks with hot and cold running water. A great convenience!

The barn will seat 170-180 at round tables, reserving space for a catering line with space for music and dance being on the deck. If the 25′ x 45′ covered deck is utilized for overflow seating, the number goes up to 200. The entire side of the barn opens to the deck so that people on the deck don’t feel excluded from what’s happening in the barn. Wedding seating may be in the field or meadow, depending on the weather, or on the deck, or in the barn. Many possibilities. You’ll probably get a better feel for things when you visit. Some brides want a cake table, a gift table, a place-card table, sometimes a coffee table. There’s lots of things to consider when looking at the number of guests and the arrangement of all the pieces parts. The most important thing to remember is to relax and enjoy the surrounding beauty of the country in the national park.

We have a list of preferred caterers.

Alcohol is permitted. It cannot be sold….and it must be supervised. Botzum is a special place, with special history. We have great respect for The Farmstead and Cuyahoga Valley National Park and we expect everyone that visits this beautiful place to have the same respect

There are no restrictions on music. We don’t care much for heavy metal, dope smokin’, acid droppin’, punk rock, but if that’s what you like you may have it. Seriously, you may have what you like. Band, DJ, CD’s, ipod…it’s your call. We have plenty of electricity for amplifiers and such. We just asked that the volume be controlled.

We have grass parking for 300 cars.

As of the Summer of 2007, following the requirements of the State Laws of Ohio, The Conrad Botzum Farmstead is a NON-SMOKING facility. For those friends that may go over the edge if not permitted to indulge, we do have a small designated smoking area, adjacent to the 1898 Bank Barn, that we call the ‘fire circle’.
